Man arrested following mischief call in Sarnia

A 39-year-old man was arrested following a mischief call Saturday night.

Police said they were called at 7:25 p.m. to a residence on Victoria Street South when someone reported a man was allegedly on their neighbours porch kicking the door and damaging the wooden railing.

Police attended the area and then located the suspect in a nearby convenience store.

Officers learned the man allegedly had outstanding warrants with Huntsville OPP and had two probation orders.

When police tried to arrest the man he was allegedly agitated.

Police said he refused to comply and began resisting. The suspect was quickly restrained and taken into custody.

The man was charged with resist peace officer, mischief under $5,000 and two counts of fail to comply with probation.

He was held for bail.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
