Teen charged after three people shot with pellet gun in Petrolia

A 14-year-old has been arrested after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated an incident involving a weapon over the weekend.

Officers were called at around 5 p.m. on Sunday to Tank Street in Petrolia. They learned that three people had been shot from a distance by a pellet gun.

One person suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was found a short time later and arrested without incident. Police say the suspect and victims did not know each other.

The teen, who can not be identified under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, and one count of possessing an imitation weapon for dangerous purposes.

The suspect was released and will have a chance to respond at a later date in a Sarnia court.
