This season's hard work and dedication has paid off for Sarnia Sting captain Lukas Fischer.
The St. Louis Blues announced Tuesday they've signed the 18-year-old defenceman to a three year entry level contract.
Fischer was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round, 56th overall, in the 2024 NHL Draft.
This season, the Brighton, Michigan native recorded 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists) and 81 penalty minutes in 51 games.
His 15 goals ranked fifth in the OHL among defensemen.
Overall, Fischer has dressed in 166 career OHL regular-season games, totaling 81 points (24 goals, 57 assists) and 176 penalty minutes.
Fischer is the son of former NHL player Jiri Fischer, who played for the Detroit Red Wings.
