One person was treated for smoke inhalation in a fire late Friday night in St. Clair Township.
Firefighters from four stations were called to a structure fire on St. Clair Parkway between Main Street and Thomson Street shortly before midnight.
The St. Clair Township Fire Department said the fire was knocked down initially by the activation of the buildings fire suppression system.
In a post to Facebook the fire department is reminding restaurant owners of the importance of having a such a system in place.
"If a fire occurs, the system will activate manually or automatically and discharge a wet chemical over the appliance fire," read the post. "The wet chemical agent can extinguish the fire by covering the flame and starving it of oxygen. The Ontario Fire Code requires the owner to have the system inspected by a trained and qualified person every six months."
The exact cause of the blaze was not immediately available.
