Fire in St. Clair Township causes $100K in damages

No one was hurt during a large fire in St. Clair Township.

Before 9 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters with the St. Clair Township Fire Department were called to Old River Road.

When they arrived, they found a fully involved garage fire. Firefighters were able to control the blaze before it was able to spread to the attached residence.

One person inside the home was assessed on scene for smoke inhalation but didn't need to go to hospital. One firefighter was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in Wallaceburg, but was later released.

The extent of the damage to the garage is estimated to be around $100,000.
