Residents are being encouraged to nominate a local business or individual for the 35th annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAAs).
Nominations opened on June 18 and will close on August 25 at midnight.
Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce CEO Carrie McEachran said the initiative is a great way to celebrate excellence in the community.
"We're always talking about supporting local and what a great opportunity to show that," she said.
Nominations can be submitted through the chamber's website. Nominees can then submit a package for consideration by September 18.
Similar to last year, there are 12 award categories.
They include: large business of the year, medium business of the year, small business of the year, entrepreneur of the year, non-profit of the year, member of the year, green business, young professional, innovation, inclusivity, agri-business, excellence in customer service by an individual.
McEachran said judging will be done outside of Sarnia-Lambton.
"We have businesses from outside of the area judging from September 22 to October 6," she said.
Successful nominees will be highlighted during the awards gala, scheduled to take place at Four Points by Sheraton on October 24.
"That night is just a night of celebration," said McEachran. "We have a band scheduled to come, we have lots of networking opportunities, dancing, it's just an all-around really great night!"
Tickets are currently on sale and usually sell out quickly. They can be purchased online for $110 per person or $840 for a table of eight.
Libro Credit Union is the title sponsor for a 15th year.
"We are excited to be able to support partners in our community and we're proud to be a part of this," said Branch Manager Cathy Thompson.
