Sarnia police say no charges are expected in a recent fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
Officers responded to a collision on Saturday, September 13 on East Street North at around 11 p.m.
Police said a 32-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle near Cameron Street.
Since then, police have interviewed witnesses and conducted a forensic examination of the scene. Officers also obtained video surveillance of the incident.
In an update, Sarnia police said the investigation revealed the deceased, who was wearing dark clothing at the time, had entered the roadway.
Police said for unknown reasons, he either went down on one knee or bent down in a kneeling position when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Speed has been determined not to have been a factor in the crash, and police said no charges are anticipated.
