Edwards, Di Iorio to compete in Prospects Challenge

Sarnia Sting forwards Beckham Edwards and Alessandro Di Iorio have been selected to represent the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) in the CHL USA Prospects Challenge.

The event, for 2026 NHL draft eligible players, takes place November 25 and 26 in Calgary and Lethbridge, Alberta.

Both forwards are into their second season in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Sting.

Edwards has 12 points in 12 games this season after notching 45 points in 62 games during his rookie campaign.

Di Iorio has yet to play this season as he recovers from an injury. He had 38 points in 58 games last year.

Both 17-year-olds are included in NHL Central Scouting’s October ‘Players to Watch’ list for the 2026 NHL Draft.

Di Iorio was one of just nine OHLers to receive an "A" rating, which means he's a candidate to be taken in the first round.

Edwards received a "B" rating as a second or third round candidate.

Both players are no strangers to the International stage.

They each played for Canada at the 2025 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship and Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
