River City Vineyard (RCV) will host its third Charity Takeover Night fundraiser at Refined Fool in hopes of raising money to support ongoing operational costs and a new project.
Worship Pastor Renee Card said RCV recently purchased a three-bedroom house in the city's south end.
"We just purchased our first home to do our own housing program so that guests from our shelter can graduate into this new house," she said. "We can have three guys that can live together. That's kind of the beauty of us getting to know them at the shelter first. We'll be able to know who's doing well and who can live together."
Renovations are currently underway.
Card said there's no specific timeframe for when the chosen individuals will move into the house. There will also be no set limit on how long they can stay there.
In the meantime, RCV will be looking for support during the Charity Takeover Night at Refined Fool's London Road site on Wednesday, November 5, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Fifteen per cent of all food and drink sales will go toward RCV.
Card said in the past, the fundraiser has raised around $1,500 and $2,000.
The event will include a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, live music (beginning at 6 p.m.), and a birthday celebration for "Happy Harry."

Card said Harry Kewley turned 75 in mid-October. While RCV did celebrate his birthday, Card said community members also wanted to share in the festivities.
"The Sarnia community obviously loves Happy Harry," Card said. "He's been to every one of these Refined Fool Charity Takeover Nights, so we asked him if he was coming this year, and he said he is! He's going to be there from about 5 p.m. until about the end of the night."
Card said they're also hoping Harry will join the band and play some tunes on the organ.
