Sarnia's downtown core is going to come alive this weekend.
The fourth annual Shopping for Change fundraiser, in support of Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton, is taking place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents are invited to shop 40 local businesses with Christmas-themed deals and offerings.
Spokesperson Amy Spadafora said they have three raffle baskets that are valued at over $1,000 for downtown merchants.
"Gift cards from March Hare, to Silhouettes to tattoo parlours, you name it," said Spadafora. "They're pretty significant prizes. Tickets are $10 each or three for $20."
There's also a passport aspect in which residents can pick up a map and collect stamps from participating businesses.
They can be cashed in for tickets to win a raffle basket.
Spadafora said there are mule and buggy rides, and the 5 km Santa Shuffle from the Davis Street Refined Fool Brewery.
"We'll also have the veranda open downtown and River Run Brewery will be in there with a cool little beer market we're hosting," she said. "Mark Moran will be playing and Tang's Restaurant will be open for lunch."
Three local high school choirs, from Great Lakes, Northern and St. Patrick’s will be singing carols, and the Resolution Quartet will also be singing at shops.
Carrie will be broadcasting live on 99.9 The Fox.
