New community fund set to boost CLFHT fundraising

A newly established charitable fund is aimed at helping the Central Lambton Family Health Team (CLFHT) bring in money for much-needed local projects.

The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) will be managing the funds raised through generous donations from residents.

While there's nothing specific in the works, money could be put toward things like new medical equipment, expanded programming, and facility improvements.

SCF Executive Director Mike Barron said the partnership reflects their shared vision of building healthier, more resilient communities.

"I think it's a great opportunity for the greater community to help possibly when the team has a project to do," said Barron. "The fund will be there for them to have the community resources."

Barron said donors will be issued a tax receipt.

CLFHT Executive Director Sarah Milner is thrilled.

"We are pleased to partner with the Sarnia Community Foundation. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to strengthening our community through donations that will stay dedicated to our rural area." she said.

Donations can be made online through the SCF website or by calling their office at 519-332-2588.

The Central Lambton Family Health Team was established in 2012 and has grown to almost 19,000 patients.

Allied health professionals such as nurses, chiropodist, social workers and nurse practitioners work collaboratively with twelve physicians providing primary care services to residents across rural Lambton County.
