A holiday tradition, Christmas on the Farm, will return to Canatara Park for its 51st year this weekend.
The City of Sarnia and Seaway Kiwanis Club are encouraging residents to check out the festive fun on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6.
Recreation Coordinator Sean Hanlon said attendees can expect to see traditional decorations and activities.
"We'll have a lot of the old favourites return that were popular in the past," he said. "So we'll have roasting chestnuts, the children's choo-choo train, ice carving demonstrations, and horse and carriage rides -- which have always been very popular."
There will also be a cookie giveaway station, storytime with Mrs. Claus, and the Animal Farm will be open.
"The big guy himself, Santa Claus, will be stopping by on Saturday at 1 p.m. to visit with the kids," Hanlon said.
Hanlon said the event typically sees around 2,000 attendees.
"New this year, we're excited to offer a holiday photo booth where children and families can have their pictures taken with Christmas characters," he said.
Friday's event will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., and activities will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Sarnia Transit will have a shuttle running between Northgate Plaza and Canatara Park every half an hour. Regular fares will apply.
Further details, including transit schedules, can be found on the city's website.
To facilitate the event, the Park Service Road will be closed, west of Lake Chipican Drive, from 3 p.m. on Friday until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
