A section of Highway 40 in St. Clair Township has been closed since mid-morning following a two vehicle collision Thursday.
The St. Clair Township Fire Department, Lambton OPP, and Lambton EMS responded to the scene at around 9 a.m.
Volunteer firefighters didn't stay long at the scene, but police have closed Highway 40 in both directions between Wilkesport Line, Smith Line, Baseline Road, and Indian Creek Road in Sombra.
Police said one person was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Further details were not immediately available.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and plan another route.
