Sarnia man sentenced in 2024 south-end death

A Sarnia man has been sentenced to serve seven years behind bars in the death of 66-year-old Christopher Bond.

Adam Michael Bishop was arrested in February 2024.

Sarnia police were called to a Queen Street apartment near Devine Street on February 21, 2024, about a suspicious death. The case was later updated to a homicide investigation.

Bishop was initially charged with first degree murder and indignity to a dead body.

Court staff confirmed to Sarnia News Today, Bishop pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter on September 2.

Bishop was sentenced on December 23, to 2,555 days in jail, minus 669 of pre-sentence custody.

He also received a weapons prohibition for life and orders to provide a DNA sample.
