UDPATE: Snow squall warnings issued for mid-week

Environment Canada has issued snow squall watches and warnings for parts of Southwestern and Midwestern Ontario.

The national weather agency says heavy lake effect snow is expected to come off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay on Wednesday afternoon through to Thursday, with around 15 to 30 centimetres estimated.

The highest snowfall amounts are anticipated to be over eastern Lambton County, western Middlesex County near Grand Bend, and northern Grey County. Alerts have also been issued for Bruce, Huron and Elgin Counties.

Wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h will result in blowing snow and further reduce visibility.

Environment Canada says travel may be hazardous those days with visibility potentially reduced to near zero at times, and roads could be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
