As most Ontarians know, health care is the biggest government expense in Ontario. Roughly 40 cents of every dollar spent by the province is spent on health care.
But there are things that OHIP doesn't cover. Things that local hospitals have to pay for on their own. That's where health care foundations come in. The Bluewater Health Foundation has raised millions of dollars over the years to pay for equipment, research, and other things that are not covered by the province.
Kathy Alexander is the executive director of the Bluewater Health Foundation. In this episode of Sarnia Lambton Beyond the Headlines, she joins host Josh Boyce to talk about the foundation's work and the impact is has on health care in Sarnia Lambton.
