A traffic stop in Sarnia led to a significant drug seizure last weekend.
A Sarnia police officer on patrol in the area of Ross Avenue and East Street stopped a suspicious vehicle just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police allege the male driver was unable to produce an identification and further investigation determined his licence had been suspended in 2014.
During his initial search of the vehicle, the officer discovered a glass pipe with fresh drug residue on it, along with a large quantity of cash in plain view in the middle console.
The 32-year-old driver from Thedford and a 45-year-old male passenger from Sarnia were both arrested.
Police said the officer also seized 55 grams of fentanyl, 3.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, brass knuckles, a knife and $1,379 in cash with a combined street value of about $10,000.
Both men are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The driver is also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving while under suspension.
Sarnia police said both men were remanded into custody following their bail hearings.
