Imperial Theatre High School Productions is debuting with the launch of the hit Broadway musical Legally Blonde on Thursday evening.
The musical follows the journey of Elle Woods, a determined and optimistic young woman who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her boyfriend, only to discover her own strength, intelligence, and independence along the way.
Youth Engagement Coordinator Jackie Burns, who directed and choreographed the show, said the production represents far more than just a show.
"This initiative was created to give high school aged youth in Sarnia-Lambton the opportunity to experience a full scale, professional style theatre production," said Burns. "Our cast and crew have been working incredibly hard for the last seven months, and it’s been inspiring to watch them grow in confidence, creativity, and collaboration."

Students have worked alongside professional mentors, both on stage and behind the scenes, to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of theatre including performance, choreography, lighting, sound, stage management, costumes, and set construction.
Executive Director Brian Austin Jr. said the program reflects Theatre Sarnia’s long-standing commitment to arts education and youth engagement in the community.
"The arts are vital for our youth, helping build confidence, creativity, and a sense of community," said Austin Jr. "I am incredibly proud of the passion and dedication these young performers and technicians have shown. Jackie and her team have created something truly special, and this program represents an exciting new chapter for youth theatre in Sarnia-Lambton."
Tickets are still available for the shows on March 12, 13, and 14 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee also scheduled on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
