LKDSB to welcome kindergarteners for open house

The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) is giving the opportunity to future Kindergarten students to take a peek at the school they'll be attending.

They are inviting families to attend the open houses on Wednesday April 1 and Wednesday, May 27 to connect with teachers and staff, and to allow children to make friends before the September start of school.

"There are some open houses that happen in the afternoon, some in the evening," said LKDSB Superintendent of Education Ben Hazzard. "It's a great opportunity for families and students to understand around the school and make sure that the families and parents know what that's like, but also for the students to get to know other students as we work towards September."

This event gives the kids a chance to explore classrooms and to familiarize themselves in a new environment.

Families are advised to register online by making a LKDSB Parent/Guardian account and follow the steps to register a Kindergarten student.

You can find the school closest to you on the LKDSB's website.
