The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) is accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship program until the end of this month.
Local graduating high school students pursuing careers in environmental fields are encouraged to apply for four different scholarships.
Two scholarships valued at $1,000 and two valued at $500 will be awarded to students continuing their education in disciplines such as biology, ecology, geography, forestry, agriculture, and fish and wildlife studies.
The eligible students must reside within the SCRCA watershed or attend secondary schools in the following communities: Sarnia, Forest, Petrolia, Wallaceburg, Dresden, and Strathroy.
The scholarships, established in memory of Archibald W. Campbell, Tony Stranak, and Mary Jo Arnold, are made possible through generous donations to trust funds managed by the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation.
SCRCA General Manager Ken Phillips said the scholarships are an investment in the future of our region.
"By supporting students who are passionate about the environment, we're helping to foster the next generation of conservationists who will protect, restore, and sustain our natural environment for years to come," said Phillips.
Applications can be obtained by contacting the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority or by visiting the SCRCA website.
The deadline for applications is May 31, 2026.
