The Village of Oil Springs and Municipality of Lambton Shores are getting grants to help enhance outdoor spaces.
Lambton Shores Mayor Doug Cook said they're grateful to have received $75,000 to support the construction of a permanent outdoor stage at the new downtown Forest parkette on King Street West.
"This funding helps bring our vision for the parkette to life and creates new opportunities for people to gather, connect, and enjoy community events in downtown Forest," Cook said.
Grant funding was also announced for the mural project at the Corunna Library, sound system improvements at Brigden Fairgrounds and Imperial Theatre, renovations at Standing Oaks and Victim Services, and new Special Olympics Sarnia Heat basketball uniforms.
Over its 30 year history, The Judith and Norman Alix Foundation has advanced more than $8.6 million to nearly 80 community projects.
