The annual Sarnia seniors cruise along the St. Clair River was a hit yet again.
The free cruise took place on Monday, June 29.
"My parents used to do it all the time, and now I take my mother-in-law," said Rob Weston. "This is the best thing a city ever does."
The event for those aged 60+ has been running for decades, attracting thousands of people to the Duc D'Orleans.
"We enjoy coming down here. My office and I have been here, well, I've been elected 20 years, so I've been coming here every year for 20 years," said MPP Bob Bailey. "I just wish the best to the Duc D'Orleans, and hope they keep on going for years, and we'll be there to support them."
The tradition dates back to 1978, and was started by former CHOK Hotline host, the late Peter Henderson.
"I love it. It's a great thing that they've done for Sarnia-Lambton, and it's awesome," said Linda Overholt.
This year's cruises sold out. In the past, as many as 2,000 seniors have been known to line up at the Front Street dock to take the free cruise along the St. Clair River.
