Tickets are selling fast for Theatre Sarnia's second annual Gala for H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat) cruise aboard the Duc d'Orleans on Sunday afternoon.
Executive Director Brian Austin Jr. said the event will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (with boarding at 1:15 p.m.) in memory of Anthony Fracalanza, a theatre member and former employee of the Inn of the Good Shepherd, who passed away in 2020.
"Anthony believed deeply in the power of community and in helping others," said Austin Jr. "Through his work with the Inn of the Good Shepherd and his commitment to Theatre Sarnia’s youth program, he touched countless lives. I'm also incredibly proud that this event is organized entirely by our community engagement committee. Their dedication and creativity embody the spirit of volunteerism that Anthony championed. Together, we're celebrating his memory, supporting the next generation of performers, and continuing the tradition of caring for others that meant so much to him."
This year’s theme, "Show Your Show," invites guests to celebrate Theatre Sarnia’s season by wearing favourite show shirts or dressing in the style, era, or personality of characters from Anastasia, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Tin Woman, Hurry Hard, Singin’ in the Rain, or any other production from Theatre Sarnia’s almost 100-year history.
Live entertainment by Bren is planned.
Non-perishable food items will be collected for the Inn of the Good Shepherd and funds raised will once again support Theatre Sarnia’s Youth Group.
Tickets are $35 each and available through the Imperial Theatre Box Office, online or in person.
