It appears more people in Sarnia took an interest in this year's municipal election as voter participation saw a boost in numbers.
In total, 29,500 electors voted online or in person, representing a participation rate of 48.02 per cent, an increase from 40.41 per cent in 2022.
The recent increase comes after voter turnout dropped in 2022 compared to 2018, when the participation rate was 48.9 per cent.
During this latest election, the majority of votes, 73.6 per cent, were cast online.
In total, 21,721 electors voted by internet and 7,779 voted in-person via paper ballot.
According to the city's participation analysis, 21.47 per cent of votes cast were by those in the 60 to 69 year old age group.
While most voters utilized internet voting, those in the 90-plus age bracket were nearly split, as 210 individuals voted in-person and 208 voted via internet.
In terms of voting locations, more people attended Trinity Anglican Church and the Strangway Community Centre to cast paper ballots.

On Wednesday, the City of Sarnia confirmed the official election results.
Carrie McEachran was elected mayor.
City-county council will include: Chrissy McRoberts, Adam Kilner, Mario Fazio, and Brian White.
City council includes: Andrew Stokley, Lo-Anne Chan, Richard (Dick) Felton, and Terry Burrell.
Janet Kershaw, David Shortt, and Erin Carroll were named trustees of the Lambton Kent District School Board, and Anthony Iafrate and Jennifer McCann were voted as trustees of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board.
David Paradis was acclaimed for the Conseil Scolaire Viamonde trustee position, and Michael Salvatore was acclaimed trustee of Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence.
The inaugural meeting for Sarnia's new council term will be held on Monday, November 16.
Lambton County Council will have its first meeting of the 2026 to 2030 term on Wednesday, December 9.
