Local team wins 93rd Imperial Bonspiel

There was a good turnout of participants and spectators at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club's 93rd Imperial Bonspiel.

The event began on January 26 with 32 teams from across Ontario and Michigan. The finals were held on Sunday afternoon.

Mark Bice (skip), Codey Maus, Jonathan Doan, and Drew Davey were announced as the 2024 champions. They were presented with a trophy from a representative of Imperial Oil, Kathy Porter.

"Bice has been a champion of this event before and [Doan] has certainly been on championship teams as well," said Head Golf Professional / Curling Draw Master Jamie Parkinson. "Davey, one of our club members, this was his first major bonspiel. Not a bad way to start, [with] being a champion right off the bat."

Parkinson said they saw spectators throughout the weekend and there was great representation from local sponsors.
