Sarnia Sting fire assistant coach

The Sarnia Sting announced Tuesday that assistant coach Micheal Haley has been relieved of his duties.

Haley was hired by the team in October 2021, after spending the majority of his junior career in Sarnia.

In a statement, GM Dylan Seca said a change was needed.

"After some review of the current progress of the team, we feel obligated to make a change in effort to support the growth and development of our players and program," read Seca's statement. "Michael has been a mentor to many young men over the years, we appreciate his professionalism and dedication to the team, and wish he and his family all the best."

Haley was suspended for the first two games of this season for demeaning officials late last year.

Sarnia is currently second last in the Western Conference based on points percentage, with an 8-17-6 record.
