Windsor Beer Business Expanding (GALLERY)

Windsor is becoming a player in Ontario's craft beer industry, as the city's fourth brewer opens tonight downtown.

Craft Heads Co-owner Bryan Datoc is a native of Windsor who is glad to be part of a growing scene.

He says there is camaraderie among local beer-makers.

"Everyone's lending a helpful hand if anyone needs anything," describes Datoc.  "Everyone's here to support each other, so we're definitely not here to take away customers or take away people from other breweries, we just kind of want to be able to join them."

Before Craft Heads, Brew opened its doors in late 2014.  Walkerville has been a staple in Windsor's craft brewing community for a number of years, especially after re-opening in 2012.  That same year, Motor Burger started serving from its own nano-brewery: Motor Craft Ales.

Ontario Craft Brewers says there are now more than 100 independent breweries in the province, employing over 1,000 people.  That makes up 30% of direct brewery jobs in Ontario.
