Colucci Named New Windsor CAO

The new Chief Administrative Officer in Windsor will be a familiar face at city hall.

Chief Financial Officer Onorio Colucci was announced as the new CAO by Mayor Drew Dilkens at Monday night's regular council meeting — filling the void left by the announcement of CAO Helga Reidel's departure in the spring.

Colucci feels familiarity will be important in moving the city forward.

"I think it's important to understand the city, its processes, the initiatives and where we're trying to take the city so I think certainly given that I've been part of that, I'm well acquainted with that," says Colucci.

While Colucci tells BlackburnNews.com it's too early to outline his key initiatives as CAO, he doesn't expect drastic changes at city hall.

"We'll see once I take over, but certainly Ms. Reidel has done a great job," says Colucci. "I've worked with her very closely for a number of years now, so I don't expect dramatic changes from the course that we've been on."

The incoming CAO calls it humbling to have council offer him the position.

"Certainly, something not to take for granted," says Colucci. "I'll work as hard as I possibly can to repay that confidence in me."

Colucci will take over the CAO's office in April as Reidel is set to have her contract expire for the end of March, before moving to take over as CEO of EnWin.
