RNAO Looking For Nurses Who Have Made A Difference

Have you had a nurse recently that made a real difference during your recovery or the recovery of a loved one?

The Windsor-Essex chapter of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is looking for nominees for its annual "Lois Fairley Nursing Award".

The award is named after Lois Fairley, a graduate of the Grace Hospital nursing program in 1955. She served patients at Grace Hospital as a nurse and head nurse. Fairley was also a member of the provincial board of the RNAO, was the president of the Ontario Nurses Association, and served on the St. Clair College program advisory committee.

Fairley died in 2007, but her memory lives on. The award is now into its 11th year.

The association is looking for stories of how nurses have made a positive impact in the life of a patient, a family, workplace, or community. The submission must be no more than 500 words and can be submitted online.

Entries have to be in by Friday, April 20, and the award presentation will be in the last week of April or the first week of May.
