Caesars Windsor announces reopening date

Caesars Windsor will reopen its doors to patrons at 10 a.m. on July 23.

Only slot machines and select food and beverage outlets will be open at that time due to capacity restrictions and social distancing guidelines.

“We are delighted to reopen Caesars Windsor and welcome back our guests,” said Kevin Laforet, President of Caesars Windsor. “As we reopen, the health and safety of our guests and our Team Members remain our top priority. We are optimistic for the future, and look forward to providing an exciting entertainment experience for our guests.”

Reservations are not required, however, all guests will be required to register before entering the casino. Guests and employees will also have to wear a face mask.

Subject to regulatory approval, table games will reopen on July 28.

The company says it has implemented a number of health and cleaning measures to ensure its staff and guests stay healthy. These include installing plexiglass barriers and spacing out slot machines to ensure physical distancing. Hand sanitizing stations have also been positioned throughout the casino.

The poker room, restaurants, bars, hotel, and spa will reopen at a later date.

There are currently no shows scheduled at the Colosseum. A concert lineup including rescheduled show dates will be released at a later time.

The provincial government announced the province will move into Step Three on its roadmap to reopening as of 12:01 a.m. July 16, this Friday. According to provincial regulations, casinos are allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity, while maintaining public health measures like social distancing.

Caesars Windsor has not operated at full capacity since it closed in March 2020. It opened briefly with very limited guests in the fall, before being forced to close again when the second wave hit the province.
