Windsor Parade Corporation hosts Christmas Pajama Party with community parades

The Windsor Parade Corporation is hosting three parades in the community this holiday season.

"This year's theme for the parades is a Christmas pyjama party. We want everyone to come in their comfy PJs and that's going to be the theme of a lot of our floats as well," said Maggie Durocher with the Windsor Parade Corporation.

Amherstburg's 16th annual Santa Claud Parade is November 23 at 6 p.m. It runs down Sandwich Street starting at William Street to Richmond Street then heads north again on Dalhousie.

The holiday parade returns to downtown Windsor on December 7 at 6 p.m. It runs from Ouellette Aveenue from Elliot Street to Riverside Drive and Riverside Drive West to Caron Avenue.

Finally, the Essex parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. sharp on December 14 along Talbot Street between Fairview Avenue and Maidstone Avenue.

"People can expect a really well rounded parade, lots of entertainment, fabulous floats from across the area," said Durocher. "One of the things that we love is the community aspect, the community entries and the people from the various communities. Every parade, although there's things that are the same, is different because they all have specific community flavour."
