Windsor lottery player is a new millionaire

A Windsor man recently celebrated his birthday by collecting a $1-million prize.

Harold Worotny is a regular lottery player, with his games of choice being Lotto 6/49 and Lotto MAX.

In the January 8 draw, Worotny won $1-million with the Gold Ball Draw while playing Lotto 6/49.

"When I saw the prize amount, I couldn’t contain my excitement and shouted, ‘I can’t believe it! I just won a million dollars!’ I was completely overcome with happiness," said Worotny while in Toronto to pick up his cheque. "Since it was late, I didn’t want to wake anyone up, so I called just a few people to share the incredible news. My friends and family were thrilled for me."

The father of one plans to use the winnings to pay off bills and maybe purchase a home.

Worotny bought his winning ticket at the I & A Variety store on Howard Avenue in Windsor.
