The Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame 2025 class of inductees include celebrated athletes in basketball, track, boxing, wrestling and football.
"People who have been part of our community for many years and have actually given back to our community. Now we get to celebrate their induction ceremonies November 8," Chuck Smith, Chairperson of the Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame.
This November, the hall of fame will welcome Olympians in track and field Melissa Bishop-Nriagu and Noelle Montcalm, Olympic wrestler Jordan Steen, world boxing champion Kara Ro, basketball's Korissa Williams and NFLers Tyrone Crawford and Luke Willson.
"It feels like a pretty big honour to be recognized by the people who helped build me as an athlete for them to recognize me some short years later, it's special," said Montcalm
The organization is also honouring Basketball coach Andy Kiss, football official Bruce Carter and sports broadcaster Steve Bell in this year's builder's category.
Each inductee is honoured with a photo on the wall of the Windsor International Training and Aquatic Centre in downtown Windsor. Their stories are also shared in an installment at the WFCU Centre.
'When you get a chance to walk by the Hall of Fame when you're at the aquatic centre, the athlete in everyone, I don't care if you're five years old or 50 years old you think God I want to be a part of that crew. Look at how special, from NHL players, NFL players, to Olympians, its a full gamut and I'm so honoured to be a part of that crew," said Ro.
Tickets for the Sports Gala on November 8, 2025 can be purchased on the Windsor Essex Sports Hall of Fame website.
