HDGH opens rehab clinic in Tecumseh

The Bob Probert Tecumseh Campus for Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare's rehabilitative care celebrated its grand opening on what would have been Probert's 60th birthday.

The new campus was funded with $1.2 million raised through ten years of Bob Probert Rides.

"We're just so happy to be here. We just never thought we'd get to this point with the hiccup of COVID in there and putting our ride on pause for a couple of years. It's here, it's happened, it's come full circle, and we couldn't be happier," said Dani Probert, Bob Probert's wife.

The location offers cardiac wellness, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, and the geriatric assessment program. It has been operating since March and has already had over 700 visits from 84 patients since then.

Shannon Landry, Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive at HDGH, said despite the number of patients being seen at the Tecumseh clinic, they have not experienced a decrease in visits to the Prince Road campus.

"There are patients who have been able to get cardiac rehab, but because of where the service is at on the west end of Windsor, they didn't want to travel, or they couldn't travel, they didn't have the capacity to travel," said Landry. "It's obvious that there are more patients getting the care that they absolutely need."
