Windsor firefighters save dog in apartment fire

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services have saved a dog in an apartment fire.

On Saturday evening, firefighters responded to an apartment building on Pilliette Road.

After completing a primary search, the fire crews found a pot on the stove unattended with thick smoke in the unit.

The fire service says no one was in the unit at the time of the fire, and no one was injured but a dog was safely removed.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Service has attributed the fire to unattended cooking, and it has been contained to the location of the pot.
