The Kingsville Highland Games are back this summer after a year hiatus.
This year's games will be held on June 27, 2026 at Colasanti's Tropical Gardens.
"Being at Colasanti's is really a highlight for us. They have tremendous resources. We need to continue to grow our spaces for some of our competitions so the layout here is going to work extremely well for us," said David Bellamy, Marketing Director for the Kingsville Highland Games.
The games will feature heavy events, highland dancing, piping and drumming, and a mayor's haggis hurl.
"In the Tug of War, for us to have teams from Ireland and Nova Scotia already reaching out is very exciting. We see an evolve competition in that particular item," said Bellamy.
Any local groups looking to compete in any of the events is encouraged to contact the organizers of the games.
The event expects to host up to 4,000 people at the event this year.
"This is a historical event. It's carried on in our town for years and I think, especially now more than ever, there's nothing more important than community coming together," said Kingsville Mayor Dennis Rogers. "It's a highlight for our residents, you have people locally as well as people from all over the world coming into our town, staying in our towns, spending money in our town, spending money in our businesses when they need it the most."
Mayor Rogers said he is ready to defend his title in the haggis hurl.
"This year I'm coming at them. I've been stretching for two years and I'll be ready," said Rogers.
Early bird tickets are on sale now.
