Windsor law firm seeks witnesses in fatal Leamington crash

The family of a toddler killed in a collision this week in Leamington has retained the services of a Windsor law firm.

Joanna Sweet of Greg Monforton and Partners is overseeing the case, which involved the death of 15-month-old Hudson Marteniano.

Hudson was killed on Monday when the vehicle in which he was a passenger was struck from behind on Highway 3 and County Road 31. The force of the impact pushed the vehicle into the intersection.

Hudson and his mother were rushed to a local hospital, but sadly, all attempts made to save Hudson's life failed.

"This is an unimaginable tragedy that should never have happened," said Sweet in a media release. "Unfortunately, it appears to be part of a growing pattern of catastrophic collisions happening on Highway 3. We have been asked by Hudson’s parents to investigate this collision and identify all parties responsible for Hudson’s death."

The law firm has asked any witnesses to come forward, as well as any dashcam footage of what happened.

"Hopefully, there are people out there who can help us understand how this tragedy occurred," said Sweet. "We strongly encourage any witnesses to the collision or its aftermath to contact our office to assist Hudson’s family in this investigation."

Sweet also passed along the gratitude of the Marteniano family for the community's support. The family has asked for privacy, and Hudson's funeral will be limited to family, close friends, and work colleagues.

Anyone with information on the collision should call Sweet at Greg Monforton and Partners at (519) 258-6490.
