New Soybean Group Building Relationships In Japan

Soy Canada says it's first international trade mission met all the organisation's objectives.

Delegates from Soy Canada recently went to Japan to meet with representatives of that country's key soybean end-user sectors.

Executive Director Jim Everson says those groups welcomed Soy Canada as a focussed point of contact with Canada's soybean sector.

Chair Mark Huston says Canada's soybean markets are built on relationships.

As such, he says it's important to build on and strengthen those relationships wherever possible to ensure a growing market and positive associations.

Although Japanese soy use is on a slight downward trend, Soy Canada officials say this country's soybeans are still a favoured product.

Soy Canada is the new national trade association representing this country's soybean producers, processors, exporters and seed developers.
