Ag Retailer: Consumers Need Better Education About GMO's

A U-S ag retail leader says genetically modified crops can make farming more sustainable for the farm and the environment.

Daren Coppock says consumers haven't been given enough education about the benefits of GMO technologies.

He argues the more precise breeding technology used in GMO's allows farmers to be more precise with their pest control and make better use of their inputs.

He points out those inputs include water.

Coppock says consumer discomfort with GMO's is frustrating producers who want to take advantage of the benefits the technology offers.
