The Canadian Cattlemen's Association seems to have little beef with the signing of the CETA deal between Canada and the European Union.
CCA President Dan Darling says if things work out as they should, it's all gravy for Canadian beef.
"We've been big supporters right from the start. There's a lot of work to be done yet, but the signing of this deal means we can continue our discussions on getting our technical issues resolved," says Darling.
"On the whole, if everything goes the way we hope it should, it's a really good deal for our producers."
Darling adds the only skepticism left among producers is whether or not the final details can be worked out, like the logistics of getting the extra meat through the packers and shipped to Europe.
He also notes with recently expanded markets in Europe, China and Mexico, all the bidding for beef can only be good for Canada's producers.
