Excited For Assembly Plant Transformation

It's day one of Chrysler's Windsor Assembly Plant closure.

Senior Assembly Manufacturing Manager John Desjardins is excited, as his part of the facility will see 80% of its processes change.

He says there hasn't been a transformation like this at the plant in decades. "Windsor is due. The history here has been a good one for the minivan -- 30 years of exciting product delivered to the customer. Now this takes us to the next level, from a process change to a capital change, and for the long-term investment of the plant."

Desjardins says it's been a long process, getting all of the employees ready for what's to come, and there's still walk throughs, reviews and training to come before the plant re-opens on May 25.
