Flooding Risk Ends

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is reporting water levels in area watercourses are returning to normal.

This comes after snowmelt and ice caused some smaller watercourses to reach full bank conditions. The LTVCA says levels have dropped and areas of localized flooding are drying out.

The conservation authority says the Thames River has opened up fully to the mouth of Lake St. Clair. The risk of ice jam flooding has passed for the year.

The LTVCA is still reminding the public to be cautious around lakes, rivers and streams. The combination of moving water and slippery banks can be dangerous.
