Hockeyville Voting Opens Tonight

Residents across Chatham-Kent are waiting patiently for voting to open for the Kraft Hockeyville contest.

The community is one of ten national finalists, winning a $25,000 upgrade for Memorial Arena in Chatham.

Co-organizer Chad Peterson always believed Chatham-Kent would get picked. "I did believe that we could do that," says Peterson. "And then when it was on CBC finally, and I saw the map and it went to Chatham-Kent, Ontario, I cried."

Voting opens at 11pm tonight. The top two communities will receive a $100,000 arena upgrade and the top community will host an NHL pre-season game. Peterson has also declared Monday, "Hockey Day in CK" and is encouraging everyone to wear a hockey jersey to work or school to show their support.
