Wallaceburg Lakers Sold

Changes are coming to the Wallaceburg Lakers.

The Great Lakes Junior C hockey club was recently sold.

"We've accepted a deal, can't name who it is yet until we get their approval," says Lakers President Jim McCrea. "Things are working out pretty good, and hopefully it will help the Lakers in their fight to be competitive."

McCrea says it also means the team is staying in Wallaceburg.

"We had them sign an agreement to keep them here for a minimum of ten years, and if they weren't happy after five they can give it back," he says.

The team will continue to be run by a public board of directors. The move should be official in about a month.
