It's official, the Cross Country Manufacturing plant in Blenheim has been sold.
Blackburn News has confirmed that the plant has a new owner.
Company officials say they have a 40-year proven track record of success, and plan to keep the plant's current jobs. The company adds that it intends to grow the operation and invest resources beyond just acquiring the plant.
The company has asked Blackburn News to withhold its name pending final approval of the sale from the court on December 5. More details are expected to be made public in a couple of weeks.
Cross Country Manufacturing received $550,000 from the province in October of 2016 to expand the Blenheim plant and create 100 new jobs. However, talks to sell the plant having been ongoing for months.
The plant ran into financial trouble this year, but continues to operate on a cash on delivery basis. Local creditors include Tilbury Steel, Tirecraft in Chatham and Pinwood Truck Parts in Chatham. Dowler Karn Fuels in Chatham, Entegrus in Chatham and G&K Services in Windsor are also owed thousands of dollars.
