Dakota Bohn scored in double-overtime as the Chatham Maroons beat the Sarnia Legionnaires 4-3 Sunday at Memorial Arena.
The Legionnaries gain a point in the GOJHL Western Conference, but are tied with Leamington for second place with 11 points apiece. The Maroons are right behind, tied for fourth-place with 10 points.
Sarnia scored two goals quickly, within the first three minutes of play. Brendan Kennette scored his at 39 seconds in, then Isaac McLean doubled the Sarnia lead to 2-0. Chatham goalie Tristan Lewis left the game after facing just three shots and was replaced with Adam Harris. The Maroons got on the board with a short-handed goal from Cameron Welch. The Legionnaires held a 2-1 lead after the first 20 minutes.
The Maroons tied the score at two-all in the second period when Zach Power lit the lamp. Greg Hay's power play goal at 14:02 brought the lead back to the Legionnaires but Chatham tied the game again before the intermission with a goal by Kyle Fisher.
There was no scoring in the third period and each side had 11 shots on goal. There was also no scoring in the first overtime period. Bohn's winner went into the net 90 seconds into the second overtime.
Lewis and Harris combined for 38 saves out of 41 shots. Jakob Knowles had 42 saves for the Legionnaires.
Sarnia hosts LaSalle on Thursday night on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
