A BB-gun created some tense moments at a Chatham business overnight.
Police responded to an establishment in the downtown area on a report of someone with a weapon.
Someone at the business told police that a man had what appeared to be a handgun in his rear waistband. Officers questioned the man about the weapon and determined that it was only a BB-gun. The man turned the weapon over to police for destruction and no charges were filed.
Police would like to remind the public that if you carrying a toy weapon that looks real, be responsible. They can easily be confused with real weapons and may cause public concern and a major police response.

A slew of outstanding warrants was more than enough to put a woman behind bars.
Chatham-Kent police say they conducted a routine traffic stop earlier Sunday on a vehicle driven by the 29-year-old woman. A check of her record found 11 outstanding warrants under her name, including theft, fraud, and failure to attend court.
The woman was taken into custody and held at C-K police headquarters pending a bail hearing.
