Chatham teen spending some quality time with police
A 16-year-old Chatham boy who was allegedly skipping school and breaching his probation order is back in police custody.
Police said the youth was arrested just before 8 p.m. Monday after officers got a tip that the youth was out past his curfew of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Officers said after they arrested the teen, they learned he had also been missing school and not abiding by house rules.
As a result, the youth was charged with two counts of failing to comply with his probation order and spent the night in police custody.

Fishing equipment reported stolen in Wallaceburg
Chatham-Kent police are working to track down some leads as they investigate a theft in Wallaceburg where about $2,000 worth of fishing equipment was stolen.
Officers said sometime over the past week, someone broke into a shed on Chenal Road and took off with 6 Shimano Tiger fishing rods and 6 Okuma reels.

Copper wiring stolen from conveyor unit
The damages are estimated at $1,000 after someone stole a "minimal amount" of copper wire from a portable conveyor unit at Thompsons Ltd. in Blenheim.
Police said the wiring was taken sometime either late Sunday night or early Monday morning from a locked utility shed.

Tools stolen from cottage reno site
Police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to solve a break-in at a cottage under renovation on Adelaide Street in Shrewsbury.
Officers said various tools with a combined estimated value of $700 were stolen sometime between Thursday, April 18 and Monday, April 22.

Wallaceburg man charged after disturbance
A 33-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with break and enter after allegedly forcing his way into a home in Dresden during a dispute with someone he knows.
Officers said about $250 damage was caused as a result of the break-in, which took place at around 8:30 p.m. Monday. The man allegedly confronted the homeowner regarding a personal matter and then took off when police were called in.
Investigators were able to track down a suspect in Wallaceburg about an hour later and arrested him.
The accused was charged with break and enter and later released with conditions and a future court date.
