15-year-old charged with assaulting his mother
A youth from Wallaceburg will appear in court August 12 for allegedly assaulting his mom.
The incident occurred at a residence in the town Wednesday night.
Police said an argument between the family members turned violent and eventually led to the 15-year-old throwing items at his mother.
While being reprimanded by police, the youth pulled away and began swinging at the officers.
He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.
He is charged with assault with a weapon and resisting arrest.

Truck thief nabbed by police
A 31-year-old Blenheim woman is in custody after a stolen truck was recovered in Chatham on Wednesday.
The investigation began over the weekend when officers received a complaint about a missing 2002 GMC Sierra. On Wednesday, police recovered the vehicle on Raleigh Street, and after looking for evidence inside they noticed receipts from local businesses belonging to the thief.
Police attended these businesses and during an investigation confirmed the woman was responsible for driving the stolen truck to purchase grocery items and cash out a ticket.
Wednesday night, police located the woman and she was arrested.
She is formally charged with being in possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with her release conditions.
She is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

No injuries reported in a single-car crash
Damages are estimated around $8,000 after a 20-year-old crashed a car near Wheatley.
Police responded to the accident Wednesday afternoon on Campbell Road near Wheatley Road.
A 20-year-old man from Tilbury was not physically injured.
He is charged with careless driving.

On Wednesday morning, police responded to a report of a man causing damage inside an apartment on Thames Street in Chatham.
Police located the man and he was arrested.
A 48-year-old man is charged with mischief and will appear in court on August 13.
