Approximately $10,000 in fishing equipment reported stolen
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public as they look to recover thousands of dollars in fishing rods, reels, and tackle that was reportedly stolen from a residence in Morpeth.
Police said the following items were allegedly taken during a break-in Monday night:
- CV 20D Okuma Convector Reels (6 of them)
- CV 30D Okuma Convector Reels (2 of them)
- CV 30L Okuma Convector Reel
- Ugly Stick Trolling Rods (2 of them)
- Shimano Talora Trolling Rods (7 of them)
- Special Mate Tackle Boxes (3 of them)
- Cannon Magnum 5ST Electric Downriggers (2 of them)
- Assorted Spoons (300)
- Assorted Body Baits (125)
- Mustad Seyewash Hooks (300)
- Braided Line 30lb and Leadcore 27lb
The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $10,000.

Trio of wanted persons arrested
It appears the law has caught up with a 39-year-old Wallaceburg man, a 23-year-old Chatham man, and a 25-year-old Sarnia woman who were all wanted by Chatham-Kent police on outstanding warrants.
Police said the Wallaceburg man was arrested Friday morning for breaching his recognizance.
The Chatham man was arrested in London and turned over to Chatham-Kent police yesterday afternoon.
And the Sarnia woman was arrested in Sarnia last night before she was turned over to Chatham-Kent police on some outstanding warrants.
All three of the accused were taken into custody pending bail hearings.

Chatham-Kent police are issuing a reminder to local residents that you should only be calling 911 if you have a life-threatening emergency or would like to report a crime in progress.
"False 911 calls are continuing to pull officers away from incidents that require their attention," said a release from police.
For all non-emergency incidents, you are asked to call the Dispatch Center at 519-352-1234.
